Never towed before?
No worries — most people do their first tow with one of our trailers. Watch our 60-second hookup guide before you collect and you'll be confident before you even leave the depot.

This happens occasionally across our fleet — different cars have slightly different connector sockets and over time they can squeeze the pin tips closed. It's not something you've done wrong. Two things to check straight away:
- 1.Loose connector — push the 7-pin plug firmly into the socket on your tow bar until it seats fully.
- 2.Pin tips closed shut — each pin has a forked split tip that needs to be open (see photo below). That gap is what grips the socket and completes the circuit. If the tip has been pushed closed, it won't make contact no matter how firmly you plug it in. Use a small flat-head screwdriver, a card, or any flat object to gently pry the split open again until you can see a clear gap.

Each pin tip should have a visible gap like this — if it's closed, the lights won't work.
If neither fixes it, check the trailer fuse in your car's fuse box — a blown trailer fuse is the next most common cause.
